Packing my bag for a longer journey is always something special, as I know I will be using those clothes and that stuff over and over again… It is also difficult as it comes with two rules: 1) pack everything important, but 2) not too much and not too heavy! As some flight companies have baggage restriction to 15 kg, I want that my backpack weighs max. 15 kg plus my important electronics and adapter in my hand luggage (but I can fit it into my backpack as well so that I can walk around with just one big luggage if I need to). My backpack has space for 55 +15 kg and weighs itself already 4 kg. At the airport my backpack weighed 14,2 kg. Yeahhh, I made it! ^^ I highly recommend to bring your own airport backpack bag (into which you can wrap your backpack) as your backpack can get damaged so much by the conveyor belt.

  • Some important jewelry that remembers me of my friends

You always should bring something to remember your home, your friends, your family. For me that is my jewelry. Every single piece means something special to me: my rings are from friends, my bracelets remember me of friends or special occasions, on one bracelet it is written “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together” and necklaces from my hometown Berlin and my family.

Those friends who already know me for longer would think I would have brought my necklace with the Australian dollar as well. I always wore it back in Berlin to remember myself of my dream to go to Australia one day. As I believe this will happen pretty soon I decided not to bring it because I hopefully will finally make my dream to reality!

Now you know how much I brought, so please don’t mind if I always appear in the same clothes in the photos… I will wash them though. ^^ As my friend Karla Larissa already said: “I prefer to wear the same clothes at different locations, than to wear different clothes always at the same location.”

What would you prefer to bring on your journey?

Julie
